Make it stand out

The Story of Violet

During the early days of the pandemic, when the world slowed down and events came to a halt, we opened a tiny café window at Blue Door to keep going. At the time, it was a humble solution to an uncertain moment—just a few pastries, coffee, and sandwiches passed through a window, day by day. We never imagined how much joy and connection would grow from that little opening.

Over the past five years, that window became something so much more. It became part of people’s routines. A spot to catch up with a neighbor. A place to feel a little normal in uncertain times. A gathering place, even in its smallest form.

And slowly, it became clear: there was room to grow.

Violet is that growth. It’s the next chapter in our story—a love letter to the community who showed up for “the window” at Blue Door. Violet is a space that invites you to linger a little longer.

By morning, Violet will be a luncheonette with strong coffee, fresh pastries, and the sandwiches and salads you already know and love. Eventually, as day turns to evening, Violet will become a cozy wine bar, offering small bites and good conversation in a warm, welcoming space.

And no, Blue Door isn’t going anywhere. It will remain just as it began—an event company rooted in hospitality, seasonality, and celebration.

But now, we get to grow in a new direction. And we couldn’t be more excited to welcome you through the door once again—this time, at Violet.

As for the name? A quiet wink to where we started. After all, violets are blue.
